Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary
News: Recently, The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has made a crucial recommendation to designate the Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary, adjacent to the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, as a core critical tiger habitat.
About:
• The Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located in the Mysore District of Karnataka, India.
• The sanctuary is situated north of Bandipur National Park. The northern part of the sanctuary is occupied by the Nugu Reservoir.
• It serves as a home to many species of flora and fauna such as Dipterocarpus indicus, Calophyllum tomentosum, elephants, wild pigs, spotted deer, leopards, jungle cats, etc
