About:
• Kepulauan Talaud, also known as the Talaud Islands, is a regency of North Sulawesi province in Indonesia. The Talaud Islands form an archipelago situated to the north-east of the Minahasa Peninsula.
• The largest island in the group is Karakelong, which is also where the regency seat is located, in the town of Melonguane. Other islands in the group include Salibabu, Kabaruang, and numerous islets. The seven tiny Nanusa Islands lie northeast of Karakelong.
• The island of Miangas is the most northerly island in the regency and is widely regarded as the northernmost point of Indonesia. It is often referenced to describe the territorial integrity of Indonesia in various patriotic statements and songs together with Sabang, Merauke, and Rote Island.
