• The Chandubi Festival is a vibrant event celebrated near Chandubi Lake in Assam’s Kamrup district. This festival has been celebrated for the past 14 years and is organized by the people of Rajapara village under the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC).
• The festival showcases Assamese culture with activities such as folk music performances, traditional dance shows, local handicraft exhibitions, and Assamese cuisine stalls. It provides an opportunity to generate livelihood for different tribes – Rabhas, Garos, Gorkhas and tea tribes.
• The festival not only celebrates Assam’s cultural identity but also promotes tourism in the region. By showcasing the state’s unique traditions against the backdrop of the beautiful Chandubi Lake, the festival attracts both local and international tourists, contributing to the region’s socio-economic development.
