News: In recent findings, research stations within the Arctic overseen by INTERACT have revealed a loss of over 1,000 billion tonnes of ice over the past four decades.
About INTERACT:
• INTERACT is an infrastructure project focused on studying environmental changes in the Arctic and surrounding regions.
• Established under the umbrella of SCANNET, an existing Arctic network, INTERACT covers a wide geographical area including northern Europe, the US, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Scotland, and stations in northern alpine areas.
• This initiative aims to build capacity for research and monitoring across the Arctic region, making it a significant endeavor in understanding and addressing environmental challenges.
