News: Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) facility, has developed the multi-purpose app SAKHI to help astronauts on the Gaganyaan mission.

 SAKHI stands for Space-borne Assistant and Knowledge Hub for Crew Interaction.
 Its purpose is to enhance crew efficiency by providing real-time assistance and access to essential data. The app is equipped to perform several critical functions for astronauts during their mission.

Utility offered by SAKHI:
 Health monitoring: SAKHI comprehensively monitors astronauts’ health, including parameters like blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. It serves as a reminder for hydration, dietary schedules, and sleep patterns, ensuring optimal physical condition throughout the mission.
 Communication: SAKHI maintains seamless communication between the crew, onboard computers, and ground-based stations. This connectivity is crucial for effective coordination and support during the mission.
 Mission logs: Astronauts can maintain mission logs in various formats, including voice records, texts, and images.
