News: Recently, the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit was held in the Ugandan capital city Kampala.

About:
• Uganda, officially known as the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country located in East Africa. It is situated in the African Great Lakes region and lies within the Nile basin.
• Uganda shares its borders with five countries - Kenya to the east, South Sudan to the north, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Rwanda to the southwest and Tanzania to the south.

Rivers in Uganda:
• Nile, Kafu, Semliki and other rivers like Albert Nile, Aringo, Dopeth, Agago, Oker, Ora, Lugo, and Katonga.

Mountains:
• Uganda is home to the Rwenzori mountain range, which includes the country’s highest peak, the Margherita Peak on Mount Stanley. Other significant mountains include Mount Elgon and the Imatong Mountains.

Lakes:
• Uganda is home to several large lakes, including Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, and Lake Edward.
• Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania, is Africa’s largest freshwater lake.

National parks
• Uganda has several national parks, including Bwindi, Rwenzori Mountains, Kibale, and Mgahinga National Park
