Moonlight Drive saves 2000 units of power
News: The moonlight initiative was taken up by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) with the help of other state agencies and district collectorate under the suggestion of Governor Acharya Devvrat.
About:
• The initiative to switch off streetlights in Gandhinagar city for 3 hours from 9PM on May 16, during full moon, saved 2,000 units of power and consumption of 1,000 kg coal.
• The main objective of the initiative was to save power when the country is facing coal and fuel crisis and to bring people closer to nature by observing the full moon.
• The initiative is going to be a regular feature of Gandhinagar city on every full moon night.
