News: In the first Prime Ministerial visit to Greece after 40 years, India and Greece have decided to elevate bilateral ties to strategic partnership.

Key Outcomes of the visit:
• By expanding cooperation in the fields of defence and security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, new and emerging technology, and skill development the nations have decided to elevate bilateral ties to strategic partnership.
• The two nations decided to expand cooperation in areas of infrastructure, agriculture, education and new and emerging technologies and thus promised to double bilateral trade by 2030.
• The discussions covered digital payments, shipping, pharma, tourism, culture, education and people to people ties.
• Greece conferred the Grand Cross of the Order of Honour (Greece’s 2nd highest civilian honour) on Modi, making him the first foreign head of government to receive this honour.
• They reaffirmed their commitment to a free and rules-based Indo-Pacific region and the Mediterranean Sea, advocating for international peace, stability, and security.
• India has supported Greece’s position on Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus, and on its islands’ dispute with Türkiye in the Aegean Sea.
