News: Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Atal Setu Nhava Sheva Sea Link or Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL).

What is MTHL?
• The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as the Atal Setu, is a 21.8 km long sea bridge that connects Sewri in Mumbai to Nhava Sheva in Uran taluka in Raigad district.

Key Features:
• Design and Construction: The MTHL is an engineering marvel that stands as a testament to Indian engineering prowess.
• Connectivity: The MTHL provides improved connectivity and significantly reduces travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai from 2 hours to just 20 minutes. It also provides a direct pathway to the new Navi Mumbai airport and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
• Infrastructure: The MTHL features a see-through crash barrier, dynamic displays, a special recyclable road surface, surveillance and detection systems, and special light poles.
• Environmental Impact: The MTHL will help relieve the environment from excessive fuel emission and pollution. It will also ensure less congestion and traffic.
• It will also provide improved access to Jawaharlal Nehru Port.
• Toll Fees: To utilize the MTHL, commuters will have to pay a toll fee of Rs 250 for a one-way trip and Rs 375 for a round trip.
