News: Recently, Tigers were spotted in the Buxa TR after a gap of almost 4 years.

About:
• The Buxa Tiger Reserve is located in the Alipurduar district of West Bengal, India. It’s situated in the northern part of West Bengal and covers an area of 760 km². The reserve ranges from 60 m in the Gangetic Plains to 1,750 m bordering the Himalayas in the north.
• The reserve is also known for its rich mammal diversity, which is the second highest among all tiger reserves in India. Mammals present include Asian elephant, gaur, Sambar deer, clouded leopard, Indian leopard, and Asian golden cat.
• Rivers: Several rivers pass through the Buxa Tiger Reserve. The main rivers flowing across the Tiger Reserve are Sankosh, Raidak, Jayanti, Churnia, Turturi, Phashkhawa, Dima, and Nonani.
