News: The Bor Tiger Reserve (BTR) has recently sought Rs 1 crore for various works to start wildlife safaris in the Bangdapur and Hingni forest ranges.

About:
• Bor Tiger Reserve is located near Hingani in Wardha District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the smallest tiger reserve in India and is nestled in the valley of the Wardha River.
• Flora: The sanctuary region is home to a variety of dry deciduous forest types. Among the several species are tarot, gokhru, tendu, teak, and bamboo.
• Fauna: The reserve is home to a variety of mammal species, such as the Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Sambar, Chital, Monkey, and Indian Bison.
• The Bor Tiger Reserve is traversed by the Bor River, which plays a significant role in the ecology and biodiversity of the reserve. The Bor River is a tributary of the Wardha River. The Ghod River, Wardha River, and Wainganga River are the primary rivers flowing through the reserve.

• The Bor Tiger Reserve is centrally located among several other Bengal tiger habitats.
• Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra: Located to the northeast of Bor Tiger Reserve.
• Nagzira Navegaon Tiger Reserve: Located to the east northeast of Bor Tiger Reserve.
• Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary: Located to the east southeast of Bor Tiger Reserve.
• Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve: Located to the southeast of Bor Tiger Reserve.
• Melghat Tiger Reserve: Located to the west northwest of Bor Tiger Reserve.
• Satpura National Park and Tiger Reserve: Located to the northwest of Bor Tiger Reserve.
