About:
• Acharya Shri Satya Narayana Goenka, often known as S. N. Goenka, was an Indian teacher of Vipassanā meditation. He was born on January 30, 1924, in Mandalay, Burma (now Myanmar), to an Indian business family.
• Goenka moved to India in 1969 and began teaching meditation. His teachings emphasized that the Buddha’s path to liberation was non-sectarian, universal, and scientific in character. He played a significant role in establishing non-commercial Vipassana meditation centers globally.
His philosophy:
• Goenka dedicated his life to the mission of Vipassanā and is remembered as a perfect example of ‘One Life, One Mission’.
• His teachings have had a profound impact on many lives, and his influence continues to be felt today.
