MEDITECK STACKATHON 2024

Context: The MEDITECH STACKATHON 2024 was launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

About:

• The aim of the Stackathon was to tackle critical challenges, promote domestic manufacturing, and reduce import dependence, with the goal of positioning India as a global leader in medical technology.
• Currently, India ranks as the 4th largest market for medical devices in Asia and is among the top 20 globally.
• India\'s MedTech industry is projected to grow to USD 50 billion by 2030 from its current size of USD 14 billion.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

• CII is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, industry-led, and industry-managed business association organization that actively contributes to India\'s development.
• Established in 1895, CII boasts members from both private and public sectors.
• CII advocates for change by collaborating closely with governments and thought leaders to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and business opportunities for the industry
