Pratik Dhumal
Pratik Dhumal (IAS RANK 183) UPSC CSE 2020

I would like to extend my gratitude towards DICS for being my basic foundation for UPSC preparation. I have joined classroom program in Gandhinagar during my job period in 2018-19 where I can cover core concepts from Sagar sir, Priyank sir and other faculties.

Nitesh Chandel
Nitesh Chandel UPSC CSE-2017 Rank-806, Post-IRS-IT

I am writing this with the heartfelt gratitude i have for the DICS not just as a coaching class but as one of the most essential parts of my journey in UPSC. Since the very start of my UPSC journey, I have been under the guidance of DICS which proved to be a big help for a wanderer like me who had apparently zero knowledge or exposure in Civil Services.

Siddhi Verma
Siddhi Verma Rank 14- Dy. Collector - Regular Batch Student

In a state of Gujarat, which is still not as popular as others in terms of civil services, DICS has emerged as the sole torchbearer in just few years. Since its inception, DICS moved with the only intention of providing precise guidance to aspirants that too in the times when other coaching institutes are mired around making profits and business.

Shrijita Patel
Shrijita Patel Rank 33- Dy. SP - Regular Batch Student

FAQ About UPSC

Answers to common questions related to the UPSC civil services exam.

A civil servant, also known as a public servant, is a person employed in the public sector by a government department or agency for public sector undertakings. Civil servants work for central and state governments, and answer to the government, not a political party.

In India, the selection and appointment procedure for the Civil Services are regulated by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and State Public Service Commission (SPSC) (GPSC in case of Gujarat).

At Central level, the civil services can be classified under All India Services like IAS and IPS, Central Civil Services Group-A and Central Civil Services Group-B.
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Civil Services Examination every year to select best suitable candidates for the Central Civil Services.

IAS or IPS forms a part of these Civil Services categorized as All India Services. The Examination pattern for any civil services including IAS or IPS will be the same. Candidate has to clear all the three stages of the examination i.e., Prelims, Mains and Interview in order to be appointed as a civil servant.

Particularly for IAS or IPS, a candidate has to secure higher position of merit among all the passing candidates to get the preferred services. UPSC selects candidates for IAS or IPS based on the merit achieved in UPSC-CSE.

The IPS also requires certain physical criteria (that) must be fulfilled to get the service.
The nature, structure and syllabus of the UPSC Civil Services Examination is very complex and a bit lengthy.

In order to ace this examination with good merit, one has to cover the syllabus with multiple aspects and dimensions which is itself quite a difficult task if you are a beginner or you don't have relevant experience.

To come out of this complexity, UPSC / IAS Coaching can become the next good option for efficient candidates striving to work hard for this examination.

Best UPSC Coaching comes with many benefits.

It can help you have a clarity of concepts and thoughts over crucial aspects of General Studies. Constant improvement in performance, availability of useful resources and machineries and use of experienced faculties are certain added advantages of joining a Best IAS Coaching.

Since coaching forms an important part on giving right direction to a deserving candidate, it is advisable to join Best UPSC Coaching available.
The role of UPSC ends with the declaration of results of the Civil Services Examination.

After declaration, it becomes the responsibility of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to train the IAS or IPS Probationers.

To serve the purpose, the selected candidates are invited to join the foundation training at Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) located at Massourie. After completing the foundation training, the probationers selected for IPS are trained at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Academy of Administration (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.

During the training of both IAS and IPS, the probationers are trained for every possible situation that may arise in their career while serving in the field. After completing the training, the probationers become the officers.
