News: Recently, The Ninth Edition of Joint Military exercise “Exercise MITRA SHAKTI-2023” has started in Pune, India.
About:
• Exercise Mitra Shakti is a bilateral joint military exercise between the armies of India and Sri Lanka.
• The exercise is centered on semi-urban counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations.
• The aim of this exercise is to promote defense cooperation and build positive relations between the Indian and Sri Lankan armies. The design of the exercise incorporates the dynamics of United Nations peacekeeping operations Other exercise:
• Exercise SLINEX: It is a bilateral naval exercise between the Indian and Sri Lankan Navy. It was started in 2005. The 10th edition of the exercise was held in April, 2023 in Colombo.
