About:
• In the heart of East Java, Indonesia, lies a chilling spectacle that has been dubbed the 'largest acid cauldron on Earth' - the Kawah Ijen Crater Lake.
• This lake, known for its striking turquoise blue waters, is the world's largest acidic lake. This makes the lake unswimmable but incredibly easy to spot from space.
• But the lake's unnaturally high acidity is not its only frightening characteristic. It also emits hot, flammable sulphurous gases that ignite upon contact with Earth’s oxygen-rich atmosphere.
