Exercise ‘Dharma Guardian’
News: Recently, The 5th edition of Exercise ‘DHARMA GUARDIAN’ commenced at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.
About:
• Exercise Dharma Guardian is an annual joint military exercise conducted between the Indian Army and the Japan Ground Self Defence Force.
• Objectives: To Foster military cooperation between India and Japan and enhance combined capabilities for executing joint operations in a semi-urban environment under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.
• The contingent of both sides comprises 40 personnel each. The Japanese contingent is being represented by troops from the 34th Infantry Regiment and the Indian Army contingent is being represented by a Battalion from the Rajputana Rifles.
• Exercise Dharma Guardian underscores the collaboration and shared strategic interests between India and Japan, contributing to regional stability and peace in the Indo-Pacific region.
