News: India has been the highest recipient of aid from developed countries in 2020 and WTO’s Aid for Trade Initiative (launched in 2005)
About:
• A4T is aimed at promoting trade for poverty reduction, by helping developing countries (esp. least developed countries) in addressing issues e.g. Supply-side and trade-related issues.
• Developed countries provide grants and concessional loans (as part of Official Development Assistance) — targeted at trade-related programmes and projects e.g. Trade Portal and Trade Repository provides helpful information to exporters and importers has been assisted by USAID.
