A good GPSC Mains answer isn’t just concepts. You need to show how Gujarat"s governance, economy, society, and development work.
A structured GPSC Mains Course can help you develop this approach through targeted preparation and answer-writing practice. Strong state examples make an answer sharper. They also tell the examiner you know the ground reality.
However, collecting random facts is not enough. You need a structured method to find, organize, and use examples that directly support your arguments.
Good examples are sourced from reputable sources and aligned with the GPSC syllabus. Stick to facts you can check and revise without any issue.
Go through Gujarat government publications, department websites, policy papers, and budget reports. You’ll find examples on agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public administration. Take the state’s annual budget. It shows where the money goes and what the government prioritizes.
Keep an eye on what’s happening around Gujarat. Industrial growth, environmental work, infrastructure projects, all of it. GIFT City for financial services and the Dholera Special Investment Region for industry are strong economic examples.
Examples don’t have to be new. Gujarat’s freedom movement, coastline, cultural heritage, and farming practices provide useful background. The Bardoli Satyagraha, for one, fits answers on leadership, mobilizing people, or India’s freedom struggle.
An example supports your explanation. It isn’t there to show off facts. Pick ones that match the question and add something to your argument.
Sort your examples under the usual General Studies themes:
Write a short note next to each one on why it matters.
Don’t just drop an example in. Explain the concept first. Then show how it plays out in Gujarat. Writing on cooperative development? Use the Amul dairy cooperative to show people working together and getting into the market.
Numbers add weight. Old or wrong ones kill your credibility. Check figures in official reports, and mention the year if it matters.
Can’t remember an exact number? Go with a good qualitative example instead.
Write timed answers. Open with a clear intro, build a tidy body, and finish with a conclusion. One or two Gujarat examples are plenty. Cramming in more just clutters things.
Plenty of GPSC aspirants know the syllabus well. Then the exam hall hits, and they can’t think of a good Gujarat example. Even a well-prepared answer becomes generic if you don"t practice it regularly.
DICS supports you with GPSC coaching, current affairs support, answer-writing practice, test series, and personal mentorship.
