Yes, you can take the GPSC interview in the Gujarati language.
The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is the state public service commission of Gujarat, India. It is responsible for conducting recruitment examinations for various posts in the state government. The GPSC interview is the final stage of the GPSC recruitment process, and it is conducted in both English and Gujarati.
The examination will be given in English and Gujarati. Gujarati and English papers in the main exam would be only in their respective languages. In the event of a syllabi interpretation dispute, the English interpretation shall be definitive.
The first examination will be a series of MCQs. The paper should be divided into two sections: General Studies-1 and General Studies-2. And the total number of points is 400, with each paper worth 200 points. The themes covered in general studies-1 are history, cultural history, the constitution, politics, social justice, international relations, and general mental ability. Topics covered in General Studies-2 include Indian Economy and Planning, Geography, Science and Technology, and Current Events of Regional, National, and International Importance.
Then follows the main examination, in which all of the papers are descriptive. The total number of points is 900. In the main examination, the Gujarati paper, English paper, essay paper, General Studies-1, General Studies-2, and General Studies-3 are all worth 150 points each. General studies-1 subjects include Indian history, cultural heritage, and geography. The topics covered in General Studies 2 are Indian Politics and Constitution, Public Administration and Governance, and Ethics in Public Service. Science and Technology, Indian Economy and Planning, and Current Events of Regional, National, and International Importance are the three general study topics.
Candidates who pass the main examination are invited to take the personality test. The personality test has a total of 100 points. As a result, the overall score for the mains and personality exams will be 1000.
You might choose to take the GPSC interview in Gujarati if you are more comfortable speaking that language. There are no consequences for doing so. In fact, the GPSC encourages candidates to do the interview in the language with which they are most familiar.
