ચક્રવાત રેમાલ
ભારતીય હવામાન વિભાગ (IMD) એ ચેતવણી જારી કરી છે કે બંગાળની ખાડીમાં નીચું ડિપ્રેશન ગંભીર ચક્રવાતી તોફાન રેમાલમાં વિકસી ગયું છે.
ચક્રવાત રેમાલ એ બંગાળની ખાડીના ક્ષેત્રમાં વિકસિત સિઝનનું પ્રથમ ચક્રવાત છે. રેમલ નામ ઓમાન દ્વારા આપવામાં આવ્યું છે જેનો અર્થ અરબીમાં રેતી થાય છે.
રેમલ ચક્રવાતમાં પવનની ઝડપ 100-120 કિમી પ્રતિ કલાકની રહેવાની ધારણા છે, જેનાથી પશ્ચિમ બંગાળ અને બાંગ્લાદેશના ભાગોમાં ભારે વરસાદ અને ગાજવીજ સાથે વરસાદ પડશે.
ભારતમાં મે-જૂન અને ઓક્ટોબર-નવેમ્બર મહિનામાં ઉષ્ણકટિબંધીય ચક્રવાત ખૂબ સામાન્ય છે.
