- કેન્દ્રીય મત્સ્યોદ્યોગ મંત્રી, પરશોતમ રૂપાલાએ તિરુવનંતપુરમના વિઝિંજમમાં સમુદ્રતળમાં કૃત્રિમ ખડકો જમા કરવાનો પ્રોજેક્ટ શરૂ કર્યો છે .
- આ પ્રોજેક્ટ, કેન્દ્ર અને રાજ્ય સરકારોની સંયુક્ત પહેલ છે, જેનો હેતુ પ્રદેશમાં માછલીઓની વસ્તીમાં વધારો કરીને માછીમારોની આવકમાં વધારો કરવાનો છે.
- આ પ્રોજેક્ટ કુલ 13.02 કરોડના ખર્ચ સાથે પ્રધાનમંત્રી મત્સ્ય સંપદા યોજના હેઠળ અમલમાં આવી રહ્યો છે. તેમાંથી 7.812 કરોડ કેન્દ્ર સરકાર દ્વારા અને 5.208 કરોડ રાજ્ય સરકારનો હિસ્સો છે.
- કેરળ સ્ટેટ કોસ્ટલ એરિયા ડેવલપમેન્ટ કોર્પોરેશન સેન્ટ્રલ મરીન ફિશરીઝ રિસર્ચ ઇન્સ્ટિટ્યૂટની ટેકનિકલ સહાયતા સાથે પ્રોજેક્ટનો અમલ કરે છે.
