The GPSC examination is highly competitive in nature; hence, adequate dedicated preparation coupled with effective revision strategies is required. In light of the huge content of the syllabus and the constraints of time, it becomes of paramount importance to optimize the revision process.

Here are some effective techniques that will help a candidate ace his GPSC exam:

Know the Exam Pattern of GPSC

Before getting into the depth of revision, one needs to have a very clear idea about the exam pattern. It includes the following: number of papers, marks distribution, syllabus weightage and question types

This will allow you to focus on key themes and manage your time more effectively.

Make an elaborate Revision Plan

A revision plan is the way to achieve goals. Identify achievable tasks regarding the syllabus and also assign time slots for each. Prioritization of topics is a must, and a GPSC aspirant must give importance to high-weight and challenging areas.

While it is always good to aim for excellence, always remember to set realistic goals that are practical so that you don’t get overburdened with unrealistic targets. Having regular short revisions with consistency is always better than longer time put in at less frequent intervals.

Mock tests are another important factor that contributes to success in GPSC so remember to take mock tests to check your level of preparation after getting a good grasp of the topics.

Regarding current affairs, the students will attempt to keep themselves updated through newspapers, TV, and interactions with other aspirants and share knowledge. Consult experienced mentors or coaching institutes like DICS for guidance.

The other very important way of acing the GPSC exams is to go through the previous-year papers. Students should analyze it to get an idea of the exam pattern and the types of questions asked. This gives an idea of important topics and repetition.

Taking Care of Health

Apart from all this, managing one"s physical and mental health is also important. Students must plan out a schedule and work accordingly. Students must learn to take regular breaks and not give continuous effort to studying. Remember to maintain a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and regular exercise Meditation, yoga or other stress-relieving techniques will be the best thing GPSC aspirants can do for themselves, as it not only gives them a break from a rigorous course but also gives them a boost.
