News: The World Coffee Conference 2023 was held in Bengaluru, India from September 25 to 28.

• The conference was organized by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) in collaboration with the Coffee Board of India, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Government of Karnataka, and the coffee industry.

• The conference drew participants from over 80 countries, including more than 2,400 delegates, 117 speakers, 208 exhibitors, and over 10,000 visitors.
• The theme of the conference was 'Sustainability through Circular Economy and Regenerative Agriculture'.
• The conference showcased Indian coffees to global buyers.
• The World Coffee Conference was a significant event for India’s coffee industry. It provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and explore opportunities in the global coffee market. It also aimed to increase India’s coffee exports volume and value growth by 10-15% in international markets.

About ICO:
• ICO (established in 1963, under the UN; HQ: London) serves as the only intergovernmental organization for coffee.
• It administers the International Coffee Agreement (ICA) and aims to strengthen the coffee sector and promote sustainable growth for the Global Coffee Value Chain (G-CVC). It has 43 exporting members (including India) and 6 importing members.
